Our Tours
What we include
We include all the ground services which we believe to be indispensable for the smooth running of daily activities. All surface transport, lodging and meals stated in the itinerary are included. Since lodging can vary considerably, we are sometimes able to offer a choice of accommodation at different localities, in order to make the tour as comfortable as possible yet at the same time economically viable. All our tours are accompanied by a specialized bilingual guide.
Flights are quoted separately so you can choose to buy them together with the international ones, at home, or leave the domestic ones in our hands.
Accommodation
We offer lodging that is suited to the needs of our clients, taking into account the distances needed to visit each site, and the required daily services such as early breakfasts, comfortable rooms, and helpful personnel. We only choose restaurants that offer great food, provide ample opportunity for sampling the best of local cuisine and the superb wines available in each region. During noon-time field breaks our tour leaders and drivers are very skilled at preparing delicious picnic lunches, even in the remotest regions.
Vehicles and Transport
Our logistics go hand in hand with excellent transport service in our own company vehicles, or others specifically chosen for comfort. We fully understand that vehicles must be spacious, with sufficient room for travelers as well as for equipment such as tripods, telescopes and cameras, etc. Our drivers are experienced and are always prepared to adjust to the pace of our specialized tours. Land vehicles are at the sole disposal of the tour and for exclusive use of the group. On boat journeys or pelagic trips, we either charter the whole craft or otherwise reserve shared space, depending on the area and the wishes of the client.
Flights
As an agency we can handle all domestic air reservations. At the time of setting up an itinerary, you’ll be provided with the necessary flight information and the choice to book directly through your own local agency, or request us to make the bookings for you.
Tour Materials
A checklist of the birds or other fauna and flora we have encountered on previous trips is provided with every itinerary. To help interested parties choose an itinerary we also provide our own original printed descriptive information for each program. Useful trip reports showing what we have actually seen on previous tours can be downloaded from this website at Trip Reports section.
Who travels with us?
Our tours are designed for all those interested in, or dedicated to, the study or simple enjoyment of nature. In addition to specialized bird tours, we also offer butterfly tours, botany and general natural history tours. At Seriema Nature Tours we can accommodate everyone from the most dedicated birder who seeks the rarest and most localized species, to those who simply want a restful holiday in the open air. We welcome the independent traveler, family groups, wildlife photographers and tour companies.
