What kind of trips do Seriema Nature Tours offer for the conference?

You can take a Birdwatching trip, a package at a Nature Lodge or request a Custom Tour. Vacancies are limited so an early booking is VERY IMPORTANT.
-BIRDWATCHING TOURS
Our Birdwatching tours are all leaded from/to Buenos Aires. They are all oriented towards keen birdwatchers, but no previous experience or special physical abilities are required. A specialized birding guide will accompany the group at all times, and will be carrying a telescope for group use, together with a complete set of bird songs.
-NATURE LODGES
We offer package tours to a selection of fantastic nature lodges in Argentina. You will be attended locally by the lodge’s staff and a naturalist guide will accompany you on the programmed excursions.
-CUSTOM TOURS
If none of these options fit your schedule, interests or desired destination, we can offer a Custom Tour. We will ask you for your special preferences regarding dates, destination and activities, and organize a special trip accordingly. This service is on the higher end regarding prices, but will allow total flexibility. |

Are these tours for me?
|
|
|
| |
All the tours we offer are appropriate for those of all ages in good health.
On our Birding/Wildlife tours, we usually spend a lot of time on our feet, but they are not physically strenuous. In general, the pace of most of our tours is moderate. Some days involve considerable walking while others require very little. Early departures are typical on our tours, as we like to be out in the field when wildlife is most active. Since restaurants in Argentina rarely open before 8 p.m. we will meet earlier to go over the checklist for the day and have dinner as soon as they start serving. Additionally, there will be night outings in sites which are known for nocturnal species, but most of the evenings are free. |

What kind of accommodation is offered on every tour?
|
|
|

| When choosing lodging, we take into account proximity to nature, comfortable rooms, good food and helpful personnel. In more remote localities, we use the best available hotels. Single or double bedded rooms with en-suite toilettes are available in every case. Most restaurants in cities and small towns of Argentina offer a variety of international foods which may include pastas, meats, chicken, vegetables, etc. Opportunities will frequently arise to taste delicious local dishes accompanied by excellent Argentine wine. |

And transport?

| We use excellent transport service in our own company vehicles, or others specifically chosen for comfort. All have A/C and are spacious, not only with sufficient room for the participant but also for equipment such as tripods, telescopes and cameras, etc. Our drivers are experienced and are always prepared to adjust to the pace of our specialized tours. Land transport is carried out in vehicles which are at the tours’ disposal, for the group’s exclusive use. On boat journeys or pelagic trips, we either charter the whole craft or otherwise reserve shared space, depending on the area. We are an agency with faculties to handle all domestic air reservations. |

Who are the guides?
|

|

| All partners and tour leaders in the company enjoy a high reputation and have years of experience. You can read about their backgrounds in the Tour Leaders section of this website. They possess great technical know-how and have friendly personalities, the patience and the ability to show clients what they want to see, while conducting both a professional and efficient leadership. All the guides are residents of South America and live in the areas where they lead tours; giving them a great understanding of their areas of operation. All are specialists (birds, wildlife, etc) and many cover more than one field. All speak fluent Spanish (fundamental for travelling in South America) and English, and often another language as well. |

What does the cost of each tour include?
|

We include all the ground services which we believe to be indispensable for the smooth-running of daily activities. All surface transport, lodging and meals are included according to an outlined program. All our birding tours are accompanied by a specialized guide.
Flights are quoted separately so you can choose to buy them together with the international ones, at home, or leave the domestic ones in our hands. |

What do I need to bring?

| Nothing different from any other birding/wildlife trip. Late September is the start of spring in Argentina, so weather in Buenos Aires is likely to be pleasant. The recommended clothing for every tour is detailed on every program. |

How do I sign up for a pre or post conference tour?
|
|
|
| |
| These tours are specially planned for participants to the Conference and their spouses or travel companions. For enquiries, please include your conference registration number which will be issued to you by the conference organizers. Non participants will be allowed on the tours if there are any places remaining approximately one month before departure dates. |
